8. 9804 Sunnyoak, build an open-ceiling pergola measuring
23 ft (L) x 17 ft (W), supported by four 4”x4” columns with a height of 10 ft.
These columns will be decorated with Artificial Foliage. From the top of the
columns, we plan to install decorative string lighting, centered within the
pergola area. The pergola will also include a decorative open TV wall located
in the middle of the structure, measuring 7 ft (W) x 8 ft (H). The side of the
TV wall that faces the street will also be finished with artificial foliage.
This structure is not a gazebo, as it will not have a roof or any type of
enclosure. The application is NOT APPROVED for the
following reasons:
1- The proposed pergola exceeds the maximum
allowable size of 168 square feet as defined in the ACC Standards.
2- Artificial foliage is not permitted when
visible from any street or adjacent property. As proposed, the artificial
vegetation would be visible and therefore does not comply with the Landscaping
Standards.
3- The proposed TV wall exceeds the maximum
permitted height of 6 feet under the Fences & Walls standards.
