On Mar 24, The Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board voted to declare a Modified Phase 3 “Extreme” Water Shortage due to dry conditions across the region, which requires all residents in Hillsborough County, including those on private wells, to follow one-day-per-week watering restrictions, with reduced watering hours. The restrictions are in effect from Apr 3, 2026, through July 1, 2026.

The new restrictions also limit pressure washing and fountain use.

Residents should know their lawn watering days and hours to avoid getting a fine.
